Via Rail, in con­junc­tion with Visa Canada, has a spe­cial deal cur­rently going on. If you pay with your Visa card for your Via Rail trip, you can get an extra 10% dis­count off the cost of your travel!

Just enter your email address on this page, and they will then email you the 10% dis­count coupon! Easy peasy, right?

This offer will end on the 31st of Jan­u­ary 2010. Offer not valid on “Econ­omy – spe­cial fare”. Each e-coupon is valid for a one-way or round trip ticket for one per­son. Travel must take place before Jan­u­ary 31, 2010 (inclu­sive), with the fol­low­ing black­out dates applic­a­ble: Decem­ber 15, 2009 to Jan­u­ary 5, 2010.

    Just remem­ber — the web­site accepts other cred­its cards and still gives you the dis­count, but the con­di­tions stip­u­late that if you don’t actu­ally pay with your VISA, when you go to get the paper ticket, the fare will not be hon­oured, and you will have to pay the best avail­able fare at the time of ticket pick-up, less any ser­vice charges that may apply to cancel/exchange the ticket you booked on the VISA spe­cial when you had no VISA. SO DON’T THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY BY PAYING WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN VISA.
