Via Rail, in conjunction with Visa Canada, has a special deal currently going on. If you pay with your Visa card for your Via Rail trip, you can get an extra 10% discount off the cost of your travel!
Just enter your email address on this page, and they will then email you the 10% discount coupon! Easy peasy, right?
This offer will end on the 31st of January 2010. Offer not valid on “Economy – special fare”. Each e-coupon is valid for a one-way or round trip ticket for one person. Travel must take place before January 31, 2010 (inclusive), with the following blackout dates applicable: December 15, 2009 to January 5, 2010.

Just remember – the website accepts other credits cards and still gives you the discount, but the conditions stipulate that if you don’t actually pay with your VISA, when you go to get the paper ticket, the fare will not be honoured, and you will have to pay the best available fare at the time of ticket pick-up, less any service charges that may apply to cancel/exchange the ticket you booked on the VISA special when you had no VISA. SO DON’T THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY BY PAYING WITH ANYTHING OTHER THAN VISA.
