CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Back to School with Naked Binder Review & Giveaway!!

Saturday, August 11th, 2012

As most of you know, I am all about green companies and eco-friendly products, and Naked Binder is certainly no exception. Naked Binder is a company committed to creating durable, very high quality and useful products that leave less of a footprint on the earth.  They believe that long life, strength and beauty go hand-in-hand in the fight against an ugly, cheap, disposable society.  Naked Binder is constantly working to improve their products and processes, looking for ways to cut down on waste and packaging.  All of Naked Binder products are either recycled or recyclable which is phenomenal!

I recently received an assortment of Naked Binders to review. I noticed right off the bat that these binders were much sturdier than the vinyl binders that we normally purchase for school use. They also sport a very pretty array of colours on the spines so you can colour coordinate your projects or pick a specific colour to blend into your decor!

• 100% recycled board, 97% post-consumer waste
• completely recyclable
• acid neutral board
• no plastic, vinyl or toxic chemicals

Using eco-friendly products help conserve natural resources, such as; wood, electricity, water and oil. Biodegradable and recyclable products will also cut back on waste that goes to landfills and helps prevent pollution from leaching into the ecosystem. Recycling helps preserve the environment and supports the economy.

To make the biggest impact with eco-friendly products you should both buy eco-friendly/recycled products and reduce, reuse and recycle the products you buy.

Using products made from recycled materials such as what these binders are made of, reduces the impact on the environment in a few ways. In the example of paper, less trees are being cut down. The number of chemicals used in the production of new paper is reduced. Land-fill sites have been spared at least the amount of paper that was recycled! What a brilliant way to partake in living an eco-friendly lifestyle! Naked Binder is an Eco-friendly option for school supplies that kids or parents already buy but without all the vinyl and PVC. They are 100% recyclable, 100% recycled, 100% PCW and FCS certified. Along with being greentheir binders are also strong enough, for even the roughest kids, to make it through the year with one binder. They were tested by flexing them over 250,000 times without fail, that is equivalent to using the binder 20 times a day for over 30+ years without it breaking. They also go one step furtherby being a member of the 1% for the Planet program. Being a member means 1% of their sales go to environmental organizations around the world.
