“Sally Short was doo­dling, which is not some­thing she often does. Her thoughts turned to love, as they fre­quently do, and at that moment she sim­ply wrote “Love is all U need”, with the let­ters all stacked on top of each other.

That was the begin­ning of the What U Love Sym­bol. Sally kept refin­ing this doo­dle until it formed a beau­ti­ful, sym­met­ri­cal sym­bol. At the very last minute she added a peace sign because she is an old hip­pie (ok, lets not use the word ‘old’…. lets use ‘orig­i­nal’) and sent the design away to be cast in ster­ling silver.

Sally has always known she was des­tined to cre­ate a pow­er­ful sym­bol that meant some­thing pos­i­tive for many peo­ple — and her time has come!

Once we received the tan­gi­ble sym­bol we knew it was awe­some, but did not yet rec­og­nize how pow­er­ful it would come to be. It was not until the fam­ily was united dur­ing the hol­i­days that we real­ized the sym­bol did not just say “Love is all you need” as orig­i­nally intended. I saw the word “Believe”. How could that B?

It was then we became con­scious that the sym­bol con­tained even more let­ters. We started with A,B,C,D…as each let­ter revealed itself the energy and excite­ment grew. Each of us helped dis­cover the magic. Lo and behold we man­aged to find the entire alphabet!

Every­body sees some­thing dif­fer­ent… sees what they need to see…all con­tained within the same symbol.”

And that is how Meri­dane Design was started!

I was ecsta­tic when they agreed to do a review and give­away with Cool­Canucks!
