CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Chalk Ink Review & Giveaway!!

Monday, May 28th, 2012

Have you ever found yourself searching for that one of a kind item for a person on your gift giving list? Do you want the perfect accessories for you your office or home workspace? Would you like unique products for your kitchen or for entertaining? If you answered yes to any of these then is the place for you. is a very cool online webshop that offers unique products for the kitchen, home and office.

I had the opportunity to try out a fantastic new product that they just started carrying recently called Chalk Ink. They are wet wipe markers that are ideal for chalkboards, mirrors, plastics, ceramics and glass windows.

Chalk Ink ® is the highest quality chalk marker on the planet. Don’t be fooled by lesser quality imitations, Chalk Ink ® is the authority. It works like a paint pen, yet looks like chalk. No dust, no smearing once dry. It  comes off with water. Chalk Ink ® offers the widest selection of colors and packs. They are non-toxic and food safe. 100% satisfaction guaranteed.”

My son and I had so much playing around with the markers. We started off with the big mirror in my bedroom and created to our hearts content! Our art was amazing and with just a cloth and some water it cleaned right up!  We moved on to my son’s room next and he has this awesome chalk decal on his wall of a drum set and we decided to give that a bit of colour. We wrote his name and put on a bunch of really cool designs and it is now a work of art. All the colours we received are so vibrant and this set was so easy to use and it is great to know that it cleans up just as easily when you are done with it or if you need to make a correction on your creation.

These are the best markers I have ever used and I am very impressed with all that you are able to do with them. Once the Chalk Ink has dried on the surface you apply it to, it does not rub off or smear the same way that chalk would. These would be perfect any type of signs for home or work or even to decorate those plain ceramic pots that you have sitting around.  They are great for kids, adults and I total recommend them!

Miss Malaprop features many gifts inspired by New Orleans and made by New Orleans based artists. Miss Malaprop is where modern handmade meets sustainable design. On my website, I spotlight the best in independent designers & artists, eco-friendly and sustainable products, New Orleans & Gulf Coast based businesses and issues, and people & organizations who are working to make the world a better place.

“My own creations reflect those same principals. I began selling my creations under the name “dismantled designs” in 2004, after arriving home from a study abroad program in London where I saw the amazing artists at Portobello Market and where I was inspired to begin selling my own reconstructed clothing & accessories.

My designs are all one-of-a-kind, handmade and original. Most are made from used or vintage clothing, or remnant fabrics and trims. Each piece is meant to have a slightly unfinished, rough-hewn, well-loved look about it. I hope you enjoy!”

    CoolCanucks Review of!

    Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Novica is one of the leading fair trade artisan websites. Novica works with National Geographic to give talented artisans around the world a place to express their artistic talents and provide access to the world market.

Novica, in association with National Geographic, sells products — home decor, jewelry, apparel, gifts and more — made by artisans from Asia, Africa and Latin America. Artists post their work on the Novica site for free; Novica allows them to set their own prices. The company makes money when a piece sells, and goods ship directly from the country of origin.

The online company gives you the opportunity to learn about the artists lives, explore fascinating cultures,  and browse more than 30,000  unique gifts including green gifts, Gifts for her, apparel, home decor, beautiful handmade jewelry, Turquoise Jewelry, Silver NecklacesUnique Gifts, carved wood furniture, gifts for mom, and soooooooooo much more!

Novica was designed specifically to give artisan’s a chance to sell their designs. This is such a great site. I was thoroughly impressed with the designs that they offer! They offer anything from silver jewelry to home decor that are handmade. They also offer gorgeous necklaces! These artisans are truly gifted!

Each of the artists have a bio that you can view to get an inside glance at the person from whom you are purchasing from.

We want to give artists and artisans around the world a global platform to express their true artistic talents and to spur their creativity. And, we want to provide you with access to unique, hard-to-find items at great values that only the Internet infrastructure can allow.

At the deepest essence of our philosophy, we want to create a bridge between you and the many talented artisans across the globe.

We want you to know about who you’re buying from. We want you to feel that attachment to the product and to the hands that created it.”

Everything that sells is completely gorgeous and made of high quality.

I was sent two really gorgeous unique hangbags to review, and absolutely love them both!

Their delivery time as well as their customer service skills are also beyond outstanding!!

“Mighty and regal, elephants celebrate Thailand’s artistic heritage in a design by Jiap Rojjana. The brocade adorns a cotton shoulder bag trimmed with rain tree wood and a coconut shell button. The lined interior features a practical pocket.”

“Embroidered in precise patterns, hill tribe motifs form colorful stars. Anchalika Chamnan works with locally grown or prepared materials to craft this chic shoulder bag. The cotton motifs are applied to hemp, while longan wood hoops attach the straps.”

I give this company a huge thumbs up, and recommend them to everyone!!

I want to thank for letting me be part of their review!!
