CoolCanucks Blog ~ Dr. Lucy’s Yummy gluten free Cookies Review!!

Wednesday, May 15th, 2013

Dr. Lucy’s Yummy gluten free Cookies are made without milk, eggs, peanuts or tree nuts, but you’d never know it—they’re delicious! Now one can enjoy gluten free cookies that taste so good and satisfies the sweet tooth!

Heavenly, gluten-free cookies are hard to find, but Dr. Lucy has found a way to beat that by creating the most delicious, gluten-free, vegan and allergy-free cookies on the market today. This company also sells many delectable flavors that honestly tickles the taste buds!

When Dr. Lucy Gibney learned her child had severe food allergies, she got down to some serious medical research — in the kitchen. Today, Lucy’s cookies stand as delicious proof that no one should have to sacrifice tasty treats because of their dietary concerns.

“Our Quality Assurance Program provides delicious treats for you and your family while doing everything we can to safeguard you from these specific allergens: gluten, milk, eggs, peanuts and tree nuts.”

With Dr. Lucy’s certifications for gluten-free, kosher and vegan products – you’re certain to find the perfect treat everytime!!

These cookies come in many tantilating flavors: Sugar Cookie, Cinnamon Thin, Oatmeal Cookie, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Maple Bliss, Ginger Snap, Holiday Sugars and Chocolate Mint! I also noticed a delightful snack on their website that is new to me, Gluten-free Chocolate Brownie Cakes! Oh they look so yummy!!!

All the cookies are made from a similar cookie “base” that consists of the in-house flour blend (garbanzo, potato starch, gluten-free oat, tapioca, sorghum and fava), evaporated cane juice, soy milk, several oils (palm fruit, soybean, canola and olive), filtered water, flavoring and citric acid from corn, crushed soybeans, soy lecithin, non-dairy lactic acid, beta carotene, baking powder, baking soda, salt, xanthan gum, calcium carbonate, annatto extract color, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, and methylcellulose.

Dr. Lucy’s cookies website describes the cookies as “crispy, crunchy,” and they hit the nail directly on the head. There is not a chewy bit to be found in these cookies. They’re seriously crunchy throughout. If you like your cookies crunchy, you’ll love these from the first bite to the last bite (which is often one and the same bite… since the cookies are pretty tiny, you can pop a whole cookie in your mouth all at once) and not even feel guilty!!

I received a couple of boxes of these amazing cookies. The mouthwatering flavors sent to me were Cinnamon Thin and Ginger Snap. They were extremely tasty and enjoyed by the entire household. No one complained, and even walked back for seconds. Melyssa is a really picky eater, and so when I am sent food or drink items to review, they must pass her taste test first. She gave Dr. Lucy’s Yummy gluten free Cookies a very big thumbs up, and continued to snack on them throughout the course of the evening. So if she loves them, I definitely know that you will love them! I really liked the yumminess of Dr. Lucy’s cookies too. What a great anytime snack, and also a welcomed addition to everyone’s lunch bag around here!

Dr. Lucy’s gluten free Cookies gets a huge thumbs up from CoolCanucks, and I will definitely be ordering more in the near future!!

CoolCanucks Blog ~ Thermacell Mosquito Area Repellent Patio Lantern Review

Saturday, May 11th, 2013

Now that summer is here, most of us spend a lot of time outdoors whether it’s in the warm sunshine, or sitting under a porch or an awning while it’s raining.

Along with summer comes those pesky bugs, namely mosquitoes!!

I am one of those people who get’s picked on and bitten the most by those damn mosquitoes, I am unsure of why they love me so much, but they swarm around me no matter what! I have even been out at camp in the bush picking blueberries and those darn things have bitten through my track pants and t-shirt!

I was convinced that there would never be a cure-all, but thanks to the ThermaCELL Mosquito Patio Lantern — the mosquitoes have diminished!!

Not only are mosquitoes bothersome, one must also worry about the dreaded West Nile Virus!

West Nile virus is a disease spread by mosquitoes.

The West Nile virus is a type of virus known as a flavivirus. Researchers believe West Nile virus is spread when a mosquito bites an infected bird and then bites a person.

Although many people are bitten by mosquitoes that carry West Nile virus, most do not know they’ve been exposed. Few people develop severe disease or even notice any symptoms at all.

Risk factors for developing a more severe form of West Nile virus include:

•Conditions that weaken the immune system, such as HIV, organ transplants, and recent chemotherapy

•Older or very young age

•Pregnancy

West Nile virus may also be spread through blood transfusions and organ transplants. It is possible for an infected mother to spread the virus to her child through breast milk.

Symptoms

Mild disease, generally called West Nile fever, may cause some or all of the following symptoms:

•Abdominal pain

•Diarrhea

•Fever

•Headache

•Lack of appetite

•Muscle aches

•Nausea

•Rash

•Sore throat

•Swollen lymph nodes

•Vomiting

These symptoms usually last for 3 — 6 days.

More severe forms of disease, which can be life threatening, may be called West Nile encephalitis or West Nile meningitis, depending on what part of the body is affected.

This baby would make an unbelievable Father’s Day Gift for dad and makes a great repellent while he’s laying on the hammock!

It’s effective at repelling black flies, mosquitoes, and other flying nuisances. When you’re choosing mosquito lamps or bug repellent lights for your patio, consider the benefits of this dual-function outdoor lantern bugs hate.

  • Effective within a 15 x15-foot area, the size of an average patio or deck
  • Easy to use — no candle or open flame
  • Comfortable: No smelly lotions, sprays, or oils
  • Convenient: Attractive size, portable, lightweight

If you’re going to be outside you need a Thermacell Mosquito Area Repellent Patio Lantern. All I can say is wow. This thing is amazing! I took it out on our first trip to the cottage this year and it’s been a really warm spring where the black flies were all over the place. I turned this thing on and within 5 minutes there was not one fly in sight. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!! I hate mosquito’s as well, and their were none in sight while this device was on! I’m really impressed, and so happy that I was sent one for review! My husband said that this was a God-send, and he told me that we need a few more for camp, as well as for when he goes on fishing and his yearly hunting trips! You can purchase these babies right at the ThermaCELL.com website, as well as at a lot of the big box stores such as Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Walmart, and even on Amazon.com!

I definitely give the Thermacell Mosquito Area Repellent Patio Lantern device a huge thumbs up, and absolutely recommend that everyone own a handful of these, they are that phenomenal!

Their customer service skills as well as their delivery time were also beyond outstanding!!

CoolCanucks Blog ~ FunBites Review!!

Saturday, May 11th, 2013

Don’t you wish that there was such a group called Picky-Eaters Anonymous? They have groups for everything else, so why not?

Yes I happen to know a lot of kiddies who are just that, picky eaters!!

Bobbie Rhoads knows exactly what it’s like to be the mommy of a picky eater, so that is how FunBites was invented! As a mother with 2 daughters, the oldest one was not a problem when it came to the food category, she enjoyed almost everything she was given. Her younger daughter on the other hand was a different story; a picky eater from the get go! FunBites instantly solved the picky eater dilemma!

“FunBites creates exciting bite-sized magic featuring a cutter that quickly cuts food into small bites, curved blades that make cutting simple and a matching popper that instantly pops! out fun-shaped bite-sized pieces — so hands are clean, food is untouched. FunBites is BPA free and  made in the USA of a strong plastic that bridges plastic and metal… It’s no cookie cutter; it’s tough!  It works on any kid-friendly food from pancakes, waffles, cheese to quesadillas, deli sandwiches and turkey burgers and more!”

See how they work in this awesome video:

I was sent some of these phenomenal FunBites to review, and this time they were in Heart Shapes! My nieces had a lot of fun helping me create wonderful masterpieces out of food, and it really kept them occupied and interested! These will solve your picky eater problems as well! They also work great when cutting out sandwiches for school lunches, and there is no more half sandwiches left in their lunch bags after school!

FunBites come in 2 styles, Cube it! which makes 12 cube shaped bites, and Luv it! which makes a big heart of 8 geometric shaped bites plus 2 bite size hearts. FunBites are BPA free and top-rack dishwasher safe, and are super easy to use.  Choose your food, press down with the cutting portion and the push it out using the popper!  The blades work on any surface and are not sharp enough to harm little fingers if they handle it! These are recommended for ages 3–10.

And even better? A portion of the proceeds from FunBites goes to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

I give FunBites a huge thumbs up, and recommend that every mother of younger children have a set of FunBites in their home!

Buy It!! Available online at FunBites, as well as http://www.tinywiggles.com/ which is in Canada!

CoolCanucks Blog ~ Baby Butz Cream Review!!

Friday, May 10th, 2013

Baby Butz 100% natural, 100% guaranteed.

Why force your child to suffer even worse diaper rash because of creams that contain toxic chemicals and alcohol?

Baby Butz is the ONLY diaper cream in Canada stamped with the Health Canada Natural Health Product number.

Baby Butz cream is made with their PFP (Proprietary  Formulation Process) and the following natural ingredients:

♥Zinc Oxide ♥Lanolin ♥Petrolatum (Petroleum jelly) ♥Starch

Baby Butz does not include perfume, alcohol or chemicals which rocks!!

Tons of parents go through that annoying phase of baby’s skin conditions and it can be awful frustrating finding just the right product to cure these conditions.

Diaper rashes tend to be the most bothersome issues for babies because they occur in extremely sensitive areas and are often very painful if left untreated. Just by the looks of these unfortunate diaper rashes leaves a parent crushed at the thought of what their poor little one must be feeling, and knowing that they are in pain hurts a parent so badly.

I just recently came across a Canadian-based company that carries a fantastic diaper rash cream that left me wanting to know more. Baby Butz is a mom-founded company and was created because a caring mom saw a need for a diaper rash cream that was clear of perfumes, chemicals and toxins!

See more about this awesome product here on this video!

Demitri was truly blessed with having such a phenomenal mommy who loves him unconditionally! This story tugs at my heart, that’s for sure!!

Baby Butz Cream is 100% natural and 100% guaranteed. The ingredient list is: Zinc Oxide, Lanolin, Petrolatum, Starch. The texture of this cream is very thick and dense which means you need very little. After all, a little goes a long way! :)

Baby Butz Cream has already had tons of testimonials … especially from Neonatal nurses in the Calgary NICUs that are buying the cream and using it on the preemies! Also, The Winnipeg Hospital NICU is also using it as well on the preemies to name just a few!!

A blurb from the creator of Baby Butz Cream:

“I have been allowed to put my miracle cream into 8 of their Manitoba locations as a “test”.

If Baby Butz cream sells well during this test phase… it will be considered for placement in all the other Shoppers Drug Marts across Canada!

What does this mean to me…it’s a dream come true… Shoppers Drug Mart is the largest drug store chain in Canada…it reaches across all the Provinces and hopefully Baby Butz cream will be available to many more people…especially for the babies that truly need this product.

As an incentive to making your next purchase of Baby Butz cream from Shoppers Drug Mart…I am going to hold a CONTEST!  (I am sorry but this will only be for Manitoba residents for now).

Buy your next Baby Butz cream at one of the eight Shoppers Drug Mart locations listed below and then send in your receipt for a chance to win a Mom + Baby gift basket worth over $100.00. http://a.pgtb.me/WZnRKq

I am putting all the goodies together and I will make sure you won’t be disappointed.

Everyone wins with a contest like this!   Now go clean off those shelves, please!”

CoolCanucks Blog ~ Nisim® International Review!!

Friday, May 10th, 2013

Nisim Inc. is a Canadian Company which has developed many innovative and successful products…such as Kalo® a hair inhibitor to prevent unwanted body hair from growing back, and Milagro a nail strengthener, as well as F.A.S.T.® Fortified Amino Scalp Therapy for the fastest growing hair possible!

Nisim is one of my all-time favorite hair-care products store, and Nisim International get’s bragging rights from this CoolCanuck!!

I cannot express how much I really love the F.A.S.T.® Fortified Amino Scalp Therapy shampoo and conditioner, and absolutely swear by these products! I have done a number of reviews for Nisim in the past, and they keep me coming back!!

F.A.S.T.® is designed to grow your hair as fast as humanly possible.  F.A.S.T.® line includes both shampoo and conditioner!

Nisim has created a product that has been clinically proven to control excessive hair loss and regrow hair. Nisim’s products are shipped around the world and also has distributors in more than 30 countries!!

Nisim’s® products are all made with natural herbal based active ingredients developed using the proprietary extraction methods developed by Nisim after over 20 years of research on the study of hair growth.

“All of our products are backed by a 100% money back guarantee. You can try our products risk free knowing that we will refund your money if you are not satisfied for ANY reason.” Nisim® International sells the BEST Hair Products out there!

I absolutely both the shampoo and conditioner from the F.A.S.T.® line and I honestly cannot rave enough about this product! I just adore it, period! It makes my hair look so shiny, smooth, and healthy —– as well as making my hair stronger! My hair also grows so much quicker! I love it that much!

Another great product that they carry is called Kalo. This is a NEW herbal solution to an OLD painful problem — Hair Removal!

“Nisim® began selling the Kalo® Hair Inhibitor product in the spring of 1997. Kalo has also been sold through hair salons and spas. Kalo® has been very well received in the market, so much so that there are many knock-off products; even one of the large drug companies has created a product to compete with Kalo®.”

This time around I was asked to review the new sulfate free FAST shampoo and conditioner 2 pack from nisiminc.ca and I absolutely LOVE IT! Finally, a shampoo and conditioner that’s good for you! F.A.S.T. sulfate-free shampoo is unbelievably rich and full of moisturizing lather, providing extreme hydration to chronically dry hair while being light enough for all hair types.

Sulfate, or sodium laurilsulfate (also known as sodium laurel sulfate or SLS), is a chemical used in many commercial preparations. It is often used for cleaning solutions in the kitchen. In other words, it is a grease cutter and a drying agent. It is also a surfactant.

A surfactant reduces the surface tension so that instead of having two small drops of water, they will now more readily combine to make one, larger drop. It will also permit the mix of oil and water, which does not happen under normal conditions because surface tension keeps each as their own entity.

Think about it, if sulfate can cut the grease in house cleaners, it can certainly destroy the natural oils that are in your hair. Without oil, your hair will turn frizzy. Your scalp will also become devoid of the natural lubricants. Your body’s response is to make more oil. This becomes a vicious cycle the more you wash your hair. Not only will your scalp become very oily, so will your forehead where shampoo is in contact with it.

FAST shampoo and conditioner from nisiminc.ca are my all-time favorites when it comes to hair care. This is the only shampoo and conditioner that I will use, and nothing else even compares to it! I love the smell of it, and the way that your hair feels after you step out of the shower is great!

The biggest benefit is that you may actually gain some hair volume because of the health of your scalp and hair follicles will improve without the irritation of sulfate in your shampoo. So, if you have a sensitive scalp, chronically dry or brittle hair, colour treatments or perms, these are some of the reasons why sulfate –free shampoo is better for your hair.

As usual, nisiminc.ca get’s a huge thumbs up from CoolCanucks!!

Thursday, September 27th, 2012

Being huge tea drinkers at my house as well as at my parents, I just knew that I had to try all of the huge assortment of teas that Two Leaves Tea Company carries! After coming across their website, my eyes literally popped when I saw many different mouthwatering flavors that I have never tried before!!

I was sent a some of their famous Paisley teas, and as expected, they tasted just as good as described! We all had a field-day experimenting all of the scrumptious flavors in that box! These are the most delicious teas that I have tried yet!!

At Two Leaves Tea Company, you will find the best organic tea ever! They offer so many varieties of yummy teas that you can try for yourself, or even offer as gifts for your family and friends! Almost everyone that I know is a tea-lover, and now I have the perfect gift in mind for that person on my hard to buy for list!!

Choose from:

jasmine petal green

assam breakfast

earl grey

tamayokucha

chamomile

peppermint

gen mai cha

three tea sampler

better morning blend

better belly blend

better rest blend

mountain high chai

orange sencha

And so many more!!

“Founded in 2005, two leaves tea company™ began with a journey. Founder Richard Rosenfeld travelled the world on business, where meetings are synonymous with amazingly flavorful cups of tea. After returning to the states, Richard looked everywhere for a good cuppa’ tea…but had a hard time finding one.

Richard travelled to gardens in China, Sri Lanka and Japan to establish relationships with tea growers in order to bring premium, whole-leaf tea from the best harvests to tea drinkers around the world. Two leaves tea company™ has been recognized for the passion, care and effort that goes into cupping our tea, with awards such as the Best New Tea award for 2005–2006 from the Specialty Coffee Association of the United States, and the People’s Choice Award at the Great Canadian Tea Steep Off in 2006.”

“Our experiences at the gardens have taught us one incredibly important thing — how to recognize and appreciate great organic whole leaf tea. Our commitment to “go there” means we’re providing our customers with tea that tastes as if it has been plucked and steeped direct from the gardens.

Two leaves tea company™ was one of the pioneers of the pyramid shaped tea sachet that allows tea drinkers to experience whole leaf tea in the comfort of their own home. The sachet gives the whole tea leaves the ability to expand, yielding a rich, flavorful cuppa’ that can’t be paralleled.”

You just cannot go wrong when shopping at the Two Leaves Tea Company. Their prices are very reasonable, their customer service skills are phenomenal, and their delivery time was also beyond outstanding! I strongly recommend this scrumptious tea to everyone!! At this time, two leaves’ primary distribution in Canada is in foodservice (cafes and restaurants). Some of these cafes/coffee houses may also sell whole boxes of their tea. However, all of their products are sold on the website twoleavestea.com.

CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Life without Plastic Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds Review & Giveaway!!

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012

Back in 2009 I discovered a phenomenal company called Life without Plastic when I had the opportunity of doing a review and giveaway with them. They sent me a Stainless Steel Airtight Watertight Food Storage Container as well as a Stainless Steel Hot Meal Container to test out, and these 2 products are still used at my house to this day! These products rock, period!!

We know too much plastic ruins the earth. And plastics containing BPA ruin our health. BPA is short for bisphenol A, and studies have shown that it can cause cancer and other medical illnesses in animals. Well, some companies are pioneering the move to BPA-free products, to keep us humans safe.

We’ve seen reference to the dangers plastic poses to marine life and wildlife, garbage that we humans directly and indirectly deposit in the oceans or on the earth, but how clearly have we received the message? Not clearly enough it seems!

Once animals, marine life or wildlife ingest plastic, thousands of spines lining the throat and esophagus make it nearly impossible to regurgitate. The plastic can lead to partial or even complete obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, resulting in decreased digestive efficiency, energetic and reproductive costs and, for some, starvation.

Plastics ingestion doesn’t always cause death, but there are clearly health risks! The frustrating, yet hopeful aspect is that humans can easily begin addressing the solution, without major lifestyle changes. It’s as simple as reducing packaging and moving towards alternative, biodegradable materials and recycling.

And this is why I am certainly grateful for “Life Without Plastic”!!

About this wonderful company, a blurb from their website:

Who We Are: Activists for a Plastic Free Planet

“We launched Life Without Plastic (“LWP”) in 2006 after several years of daydreaming about how to make a contribution to reducing the large quantities of plastic that are consumed every second of every day around the world.  We played with ideas for raising awareness about the issue. We wanted to address the environmental disaster that the consumption of plastic is causing, and the damage that leaching plastic can cause to human and animal health.  We quickly realized that before we could effectively help people reduce their plastic consumption, we had to be able to point them toward non-plastic alternatives that could replace the plastic items currently used in day-to-day life.  When Life Without Plastic was created, very few alternatives existed in the North American market, especially for food and drink containers.  Our son was born in 2003, and he was the catalyst. He made us look more actively for alternatives in North America and in other countries around the world.  This is how Sanctus Mundo, our unique product brand, came into existence.

Fast forward three years to 2009 and here we are.  There are now many more alternatives to plastic products available thanks, for example, to the tremendous media attention on bisphenol A over the past two years.  Yet one thing we are noticing is that the quality of these alternatives varies significantly.  There are some wonderful new products created with a real concern for quality, health, the environment, and workers conditions. But there are other products out there that are unsafe.  For example, not all stainless steel is created equal, and as with many things, price is often an indicator of quality.

As we continue to fulfill our goal of making available more and more high quality alternatives to plastic products, we are now able to begin focusing increased attention on an equally important element of our mission:  raising awareness about plastics issues by providing solid science– and experience-based information and showing people, one person at a time, the beauty and simplicity of a life without plastic.”

This great company carries all sorts of alternatives to plastic, making the environment such a better place.

They sell all kind of sweet products, including:

Bags

Child and Baby Products

Food Storage

Non-Plastic Toys

Tableware

Water Storage

This time around they sent me some fantastic Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds to try out and as per usual, Life without Plastic did not disappoint!!

Summer at the Diotte household means refreshing popsicle time. We eat popsicles all throughout the day and the evening. We devour them when we’re blazing from the hot summer sun, like we have been for most of this summer. We chow on popsicles at any old time because they are refreshing, fun, and when they’re not loaded with sugar and artificial food colouring like the ones you might buy in the store, they’re very healthy and also an eco-friendly soothing snack for people both young and old!

These Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds are made of stainless steel and come with three reusable bamboo sticks and two silicone gaskets each.

Popsicles are one of the easiest make-it-yourself treats both because they’re quick (not counting freezing time), and because they use up fruit that might be too ripe to eat but very easy to puree. All you need to make popsicles is:

* Life without Plastic Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds

* a mixture of whatever tinkles your fancy, (whatever you would like to eat in your popsicle)

* a blender of some sort to puree the ingredients so you can pour them into your Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds; and

* a funnel so you can easily pour the puree into these awesome Ice Pop Molds.

These are the best Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds by far that we have ever tried! No more shopping for supermarket popsicles now thanks to these molds from Life without Plastic! They rock!!!!!

yvesrocher.coolcanucks.ca

Being a HUGE fan of Yves Rocher products, I was beyond ecstatic when they agreed to team up with CoolCanucks to do a second review and giveaway!!

Yves Rocher is the world leader in botanical beauty products! Yves Rocher  is the online destination for beauty cosmetics including skin and body care, fragrance, makeup, and bath.

Yves Rocher, a world leader in botanical beauty care, was founded over 40 years ago in France. Since its inception, the company has grown to more than 1,800 beauty centres worldwide, and distributes its catalogue on five continents, in 90 countries and over 20 languages!!

Yves Rocher has a Foundation called the Yves Rocher Foundation. Here is a bit of info: The Yves Rocher Foundation – Institut de France was an initiative of Jacques Rocher, son of Yves Rocher. The Foundation supports local and global initiatives that help preserve nature and educate people about the environment all around the world. Created in 1991 and placed under the auspices of the Institut de France in 2001, the Yves Rocher Foundation is working towards creating a “greener world” through 2 key initiatives: the Women of the Earth Awards and the Plant for the Planet Programme.

Yves Rocher sent me their FABULOUS D-14 Shape Refiner & Slimming massage accessory to Review, and it is phenomenal!

Slimming Care

“Yves Rocher has found the necessary ingredients for its slimming care products in its botanicals. After 4 years of intensive research, Yves Rocher Botanical Laboratories discovered a variety of Green Coffee Bean, Coffea Canephora Robusta, with 3 times more slimming effectiveness than the traditional caffeine based slimming products. Test the effectiveness of these targeted treatments for a visibly slimmer look day-by-day.”

Give it a try: the results are amazing and proven scientifically.
How does it work? This product combines two plants for an intensive double action:

• Centella Asiatica extract to tone up skin
In only 14 days, skin is firmer, your figure is redefined and looks slimmer. On the starting blocks to sculpt your silhouette.

I was ecstatic to be able to review this product after hearing so much about it! I simply applied it to my thighs and butt every day and night for 2 weeks and I saw a noticeable difference in the way my skin looked in those areas! My skin definitely looked firmer and redefined! I was impressed to say the least!!

CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Steward Bags 100% certified organic cotton Reusable Bags Review & Giveaway!!

Thursday, September 6th, 2012

For some, it can be hard to imagine a world without plastic – especially plastic bags.

The cons of using plastic bags are so overwhelming I don’t think I can think of any pros. They are a huge pollution problem, their lightweight design allows them to blow away easily. The fact that they are free gives them no value so people don’t think about how they dispose of them. They are made from petroleum, which could be used for fuel or energy. They don’t biodegrade, instead they breakdown and are mistaken for food and are often eaten by both land and marine animals which is fatal. They are found everywhere and many animals become fatally entangled.

They are not biodegradable, so they will persist pretty much forever, wherever they end up. Landfills if we are lucky, but because of their widespread use and their ability to fly away in the wind, they can be a big part of the trash along roads and fields. If they get into the water, they look like food and end up clogging the stomachs of a variety of animals, most famously sea turtles looking for jellyfish.

The recycling of plastic bags, while preferable to other disposal methods, is not cost-effective. Plastic bags have only existed for 25 years yet the billions that have been produced since then have caused immeasurable damage to the environment and to wildlife.

Thank Heavens for Steward Bags 100% certified organic cotton Reusable Bags!!

I was sent some Steward Bags 100% certified organic cotton Reusable Bags to review, and they are phenomenal! The benefits of using these 100% certified organic cotton Reusable Bags are fantastic! They are a re-usable alternative to plastic, each one has the potential to eliminate hundreds of plastic bags!!

Their Mission Statement:

“To provide grocery shoppers  with a high quality, eco-friendly alternative to plastic produce bags as  well as encourage and challenge others to become active participants in  stewardship initiatives for our planet.”

Company History:

“Steward Bags was born out of our family’s love for the outdoors and our passion for stewardship of the Earth.  We are committed to learning new ways to reduce our ecological foot print.  We waited for others to create an eco-friendly alternative to the plastic produce bags and grew impatient.  In the meantime we debated.  One of us insisted on tying a knot in the top of the bag so the produce didn’t roll out. The other, however, argued that knotting the top of the bag makes it difficult to re-open and impossible to reuse.  Either way these bags ended up piling up in our garbage and utimately in the local landfill. Not only have we developed this organic produce bag as an Earth friendly alternative to plastic produce bags, now we have one less thing to argue about. We feel that the development of our product is a natural progression from reusable grocery bags.”

I give Steward Bags 100% certified organic cotton Reusable Bags a huge thumbs up, and absolutely recommend that everyone purchase these phenomenal reusable produce bags!
