It’s defi­nitely not a secret that Dyson pro­duces and sells stand-out vac­uum clean­ers both upright and can­is­ter style. Dyson aims to con­tinue their suc­cess­ful line of vac­u­ums, and even came out with a model geared towards pet-owners, and the chal­lenges of dreaded pet hair!!

 

 

 

 

 

Hav­ing the plan of buy­ing a new vac­uum cleaner for months now, I was so ecsta­tic when the great folks over at Dyson Canada con­tacted me to do a review and give­away with them here at CoolCanucks!!

I am assum­ing that the DC 43 Ani­mal Vac­uum was lit­er­ally flown here by a leer jet because it hon­estly arrived shortly after being asked to review it! I give Dyson a huge Kudos right there for the fact that their deliv­ery time was phenomenal!

I put this vac­uum together with­out the help from my hus­band, as it comes with very easy instruc­tions. If I can put it together, any­one could! They let me choose from the newest stan­dard Dyson Vac­uum, or a spe­cial one specif­i­cally for ani­mal own­ers. With hav­ing 3 dogs, the Dyson DC 43 Ani­mal Vac­uum it was!

 

 

 

 

 

The Dyson DC 43 Ani­mal Vac­uum is a Dyson Ball™ upright vac­uum with the lat­est Radial Root Cyclone™ tech­nol­ogy. It gen­er­ates the strongest suc­tion power at the cleaner head, to pow­er­fully remove dust, dirt and pet hair from the home. Includes a Mini tur­bine head to clean pet hair and stub­born dirt from uphol­stery, stairs and the car.

I am very proud to boast that the Dyson DC43 Ani­mal Ball is a Bag­less Upright Vac­uum, which means no more hav­ing to run for bags unlike on most other vac­u­ums. To me this also means a greener world, as they no longer con­tinue to use bags!

I had a short list of pros and cons on this vac­uum, so I called for­ward an expert for the con:

 

The Pros:

 

~ The DC 43 Ani­mal Vac has EXCELLENT suc­tion, I was impressed by this.

~ Who­ever invented the ball was a com­plete genius! I love how easy it maneu­vers so eas­ily and turns on a dime!!

~ I find it very light­weight for car­ry­ing it up and down the stairs

~ The floor tool piv­ots great and gets down low under beds, furniture

~ Tur­bine tool is made well and doesn’t power out

(Tur­bine tool is used to clean pet hair and stub­born dirt from uphol­stery, stairs and the car)

~ Another thing that impressed me is that the Dyson Ani­mal uprights and can­is­ter are cer­ti­fied asthma and allergy friendly™ by the Asthma Soci­ety of Canada.

~ I have three dogs, and my other vac­uum would just basi­cally roll over the hair and pick up a lit­tle here and there — the Dyson DC 43 Ani­mal vac hon­estly removed the dirt and pet hair that was on my liv­in­groom area rug, as well as the upstairs and down­stairs car­pet like noth­ing! I was amazed to see all of the gross stuff in that clear cup (that also comes off to empty into the garbage and re-attaches very eas­ily by the way)

~ The price. Very expen­sive and dif­fi­cult for a lot of peo­ple to buy although many many peo­ple want one!

Per­for­mance

Cleaner Heads

• Inside the ball: DC37 has 112 com­po­nents crammed in a per­fect con­fig­u­ra­tion into the ball, includ­ing the motor, duct­ing and 6.5m cable.

This Dyson DC 43 Vac is much lighter than my other vac­uum and a lot eas­ier to han­dle for tight spots! The ball makes it amaz­ingly easy to maneu­ver on all floor sur­faces. It lit­er­ally turns on a dime with the twist of the wrist!! Design and ergonom­ics are top notch, so is the pull-out hose which is very handy. Emp­ty­ing the can­is­ter is sim­ple, just pull the can­is­ter out and press a but­ton, the bot­tom opens and every­thing falls right out into your garbage. This is the best vac­uum for ani­mal hair!

I truly adore this vac­uum for both car­pet and solid sur­face floors. It works excel­lent on all floors. It works so good at pick­ing up dog hair and dirt we never actu­ally knew we had. The Dyson Canada DC 43 Ani­mal Vac­uum sucks up pollen and aller­gens as well. Words can’t even express how phe­nom­e­nal this machine really is! Just be care­ful about where you empty the dirt can­is­ter. Dust and dirt does tend to fly when emp­ty­ing it so be sure to empty it out­side or in the garage.

 

 

 

 

Dyson Canada never dis­ap­points. I will never use another vac­uum in my life other than Dyson! Dyson sells the best vac­u­ums, period. Not only are their vac­u­ums amaz­ing, but their cus­tomer ser­vice skills as well as deliv­ery time were also above outstanding!

It’s Fri­day night and you’re head­ing out on the town with your friends. You’ve got on your cutest out­fit and a killer pair of heels – you’re all set for a night of seri­ous bar hopping.

 

Unfor­tu­nately, when you’re get­ting ready to leave the sec­ond bar you real­ize that you no longer have the abil­ity to walk. Your bal­ance is already a lit­tle thrown off by the amount of heavy drink­ing you’ve been doing, and now you have to walk in 6-inch stilet­tos? No thanks. That stool you’re perched on will be just fine for the rest of the night, thank you very much.

 

You con­tinue order­ing drinks until the wee hours when you’re friends are finally ready to head home. You care­fully step onto the side­walk and within 5 min­utes decide there is NO way you are walk­ing home in those shoes. Green Tan­ger­ine is one of my newest dis­cov­er­ies and I am so happy that I found this amaz­ing online store. The owner very kindly sent me a wide vari­ety of prod­ucts to try out and review for the won­der­ful read­ers at CoolCanucks.

 

 

Green Tan­ger­ine is a Cana­dian online store based in Hamp­ton, Ontario Canada that sells  all kinds of lotions, balms, bath prod­ucts and body fra­grances in a wide array of deca­dent fra­grances that are sure to tan­ta­lize your senses. I really like that the ingre­di­ents for the Green Tan­gerine prod­ucts are nat­ural, envi­ron­men­tally friendly and handcrafted.

 

 

I received 4 prod­ucts to review

Sat­suma Guava Body Lotion:   I was very impressed with this body lotion. I decided to bring this one to work so that some of my cowork­ers could try it is as well and they were as impressed as I was with this prod­uct. The fra­grance is not heavy or over­whelm­ing. When applies it is light and eas­ily absorbed. My hands did not have an oily or greasy residue after apply­ing and left my hands feel­ing soft and smooth. I am totally hooked on this lotion and the scent!

 

Sat­suma Guava Body But­ter: I really loved using this prod­uct after I got out of the shower every morn­ing and I applied it all over my body. The refresh­ing orange scent was per­fect to perk me up first thing in the morn­ing which is always a good thing. The fra­grance just like the body lotion is not over­whelm­ing and it left my skin feel­ing soft and silky smooth.

 

Sat­suma Guava Body Spray: I found this body spray to be rather unique from any other that I have ever tried. The same scent as the other two prod­ucts which made it per­fect for lay­er­ing and have the fra­grance last for hours. The mist from the spray bot­tle is very fine so you do not have to worry about apply­ing too much. The body spray is made with a fra­grance oil and feels won­der­ful on your when applied

Pink Sugar Roller Per­fume: I love scents that remind me of sweet food and this one really fits the bill. The pink sugar fra­grance smells so yummy that it is almost good enough to eat. I also really like that the per­fume roller is small enough so you can stick it in your purse and take it with you every­where. Always handy when you want to pick me up and want to smell good!

A slightly sweet scent with vanilla undertones. Very pop­u­lar with the teens!

Coconut Lime Ver­bena
A very fresh scent of lime and ver­bena with just a hint of coconut.

Always a favourite with young and old. Rem­i­nis­cent of old Eng­lish gardens.

Melon Mad­ness
A fresh fra­grance sim­i­lar to Bath and Body Works Cucum­ber Melon

Vanilla San­dal­wood
San­dal­wood and vanilla com­bined, giv­ing this scent a very grown up seduc­tive fragrance.

Lilac
No chem­i­cal under­tone here, smells like lilacs just picked off the tree. Enjoy Spring all year round.

Bartlett Pear
A very fresh light fra­grance has the hint of sweet­ness of a fresh ripened pear.

Sat­suma Guava
An all time cus­tomer favourite cit­rusy sat­suma scent, very unisex.

White Tea and Gin­ger
A new favourite. White tea mixed with a sub­tle gin­ger. A very orig­i­nal scent with just enough zip.

I don’t know about you, but I for one hate pack­ing lunches to begin with. And then hav­ing to bring your sand­wiches along with fruits and veg­eta­bles in indi­vid­ual plas­tic bags really sucks! After all, plas­tic bags are on the outs now in our new and much greener world! Land­fills are full and over­flow­ing with plas­tic bags which is extremely sad.

Most par­ents pack lunch items for them­selves, chil­dren, or spouses in single-use plas­tic bags, alu­minum foil, or wax paper. Admit­tedly, these prod­ucts are extremely con­ve­nient, but what is the envi­ron­men­tal cost to a coun­try that relies so heav­ily on them? It is horrible!!

 

For some, it can be hard to imag­ine a world with­out plas­tic – espe­cially plas­tic bags.
The cons of using plas­tic bags are so over­whelm­ing I don’t think I can think of any pros. They are a huge pol­lu­tion prob­lem, their light­weight design allows them to blow away eas­ily. The fact that they are free gives them no value so peo­ple don’t think about how they dis­pose of them. They are made from petro­leum, which could be used for fuel or energy. They don’t biode­grade, instead they break­down and are mis­taken for food and are often eaten by both land and marine ani­mals which is fatal. They are found every­where and many ani­mals become fatally entan­gled.
They are not biodegrad­able, so they will per­sist pretty much for­ever, wher­ever they end up. Land­fills if we are lucky, but because of their wide­spread use and their abil­ity to fly away in the wind, they can be a big part of the trash along roads and fields. If they get into the water, they look like food and end up clog­ging the stom­achs of a vari­ety of ani­mals, most famously sea tur­tles look­ing for jellyfish.

 

 

 

The recy­cling of plas­tic bags, while prefer­able to other dis­posal meth­ods, is not cost-effective. Plas­tic bags have only existed for 25 years yet the bil­lions that have been pro­duced since then have caused immea­sur­able dam­age to the envi­ron­ment and to wildlife. CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Vintage Rose Wraps Review & Giveaway!!

Vin­tage Rose Wraps really intrigued me when I ini­tially saw all of the pretty head­bands and belts that they carry!

I for one love ‘girly stuff’, quite unlike some of my friends who pre­fer to dress in sweats and a hoodie most of the time not even both­er­ing to get dressed up like every girl should once in awhile!!

I love to do that often, it makes me feel so young and vibrant! I refuse to be one of those 40 year old moth­ers who have totally let them­selves go appearance-wise after mar­riage and just don’t care what they wear or how they appear to oth­ers. Tak­ing care of your­self, exer­cis­ing reg­u­larly, wear­ing pretty clothes and makeup, are all part of assist­ing to main­tain your youth whether you are 20 or even in your 40’s! They say that you are only as old as you feel, and if you feel old, your appear­ance will make you look old as well as far as I’m concerned.

 

 

 

 

Along with dress­ing up comes those extra added stun­ning acces­sories to give your out­fit a kick! The gor­geous belts, the jewellery, and stun­ning head­bands cer­tainly gives your look an amaz­ing boost! All things woman excite me! The best head­bands can be found at Vin­tage Rose Wraps where two sis­ters Katie and Ginny design these head­bands them­selves with help from 3 other ladies who sew for them! They both love fab­ric and always have a desire to cre­ate! It was so hard choos­ing just 2 head­bands to review as they are all so pretty, and the exten­sive array of designs and colours are endless!!

 

 

 

 

It came down to me choos­ing the “Char­lotte Clas­sic” and “Goes With Every­thing Pais­ley Taupe” head­bands, and wow they absolutely exceeded my expec­ta­tions!! They look so pretty in the pic­tures on the Vin­tage Rose Wraps web­site, but when I opened the pack­age, they were even more beau­ti­ful then antic­i­pated!! Katie and Ginny are really fash­ion­able and truly keep up to date with today’s style!

I for one am a huge can­dle lover, espe­cially the scented ones. I have two dogs, and am con­tin­u­ally con­cerned about what my house smells like when guests walk in the door. I love my home to look and also smell warm and inviting.

The idea of my favorite can­dles being lit and unat­tended to though fright­ens me the most. One can sim­ply run to the bath­room for just a few min­utes and the dog hap­pens to waltz by and hits the lit can­dle which in turn falls onto the car­pet and a house fire begins! Oh boy the thought of that just makes me shudder!

There’s a spe­cial beauty and tran­quil­ity to can­dles, but a lighted can­dle is also an open flame, and a poten­tial fire haz­ard if not care­fully mon­i­tored. That is why I am so ecsta­tic to have found Scentsy Canada as the wor­ries are sud­denly taken away and it feels like a huge weight has been lifted! I had the absolute plea­sure of review­ing one of the Scentsy warm­ers a cou­ple of years ago which was the orig­i­nal warmer (as pic­tured above) and I thought that one was phe­nom­e­nal! I also received some heav­enly scented warmer bars to go with it, with Cran­berry Mango being my most favorite! The other scentsy warmer bars that I was so lucky to review were the Lucky in Love, and Sticky Cin­na­mon Bun. All of the scentsy scents fill your home with delight and one never has to worry about unat­tended can­dles because these Scentsy Warm­ers sim­ply plug right in!
