The Slan­ket is a gigan­tic fleece blan­ket with sleeves. A very soft to the touch, light­weight, but warm fleece blan­ket with large, loose sleeves designed so you don’t feel like you’re wear­ing the blan­ket, sim­ply wrapped up in its won­der. One sub­zero night in 1998 dur­ing my first semes­ter of col­lege I could not escape Maine’s win­ter bite. While watch­ing Late Night with Conan O’Brien I decided I needed to tear a hole in my sleep­ing bag so I could keep my upper body warm as I chan­nel surfed dur­ing the com­mer­cial breaks. Dur­ing Christ­mas vaca­tion I com­mis­sioned the first Slan­ket to be made by my mother…and it was born.

Every­one behind the The Slan­ket is on the same level when it comes to life. Besides cre­at­ing a prod­uct to make peo­ple com­fort­able and warm, our life goals are not to accu­mu­late man­sions, SUV’s, expen­sive watches and clos­ets just for shoes. What we want in life is to travel the world and expe­ri­ence all its cul­tures while rep­re­sent­ing human­ity pos­i­tively. Whether surf­ing in Costa Rica, snow­board­ing in Aus­tria, or study­ing lan­guage in South Amer­ica and China, we love to spread our sleeves and let them flap in the wind, giv­ing back in the process. BUT… there is noth­ing like com­ing home, wrap­ping up in THE SLANKET on your own couch and feel­ing the warmth of your friends and family.

I want one of these so badly so myself, it is so cold here in Canada as you already know, and this would be PERFECT for me — some­one who is always cold!!

The Slan­ket has arm holes and a col­lar to keep you warm, while leav­ing your hands free to work, read, cud­dle the lit­tle ones, or flip channels.

    After read­ing this post, I want a Slan­ket so badly! I am cur­rently a stu­dent and the phrase “cold drafty dorm rooms” describes my sit­u­a­tion lit­er­ally. It is always freez­ing in my room, and if I had a Slan­ket, I would be able to study and type and still be snug­gly warm. I’d want a pink slan­ket to match my room’s decor, and all my friends will be so jeal­ous that I have one and they’ll all want one too! haha

    I’m always try­ing to tuck my blan­ket all around me, except then I have to rearrange it every time I need to get up for any­thing. Ug!     What I love about the Slan­ket is that you can keep your­self cozy comfy and you can still do things like read or change the chan­nel! I like that they donate a por­tion of their pro­ceeds to char­ity, I didn’t know that.     I love the fact that the Slan­ket is so sim­plis­tic and is machine wash­able. I am always walk­ing around the house in the weird­est lay­ers of cloth­ing in the win­ter because I get so cold, but this would cure that prob­lem. I would love to have the reg­u­lar moss green slanket.
