CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Talking Bird Books ~ Cougar Cub Tales Children’s Book Collection Review & Giveaway!!

Just sit back for a few seconds and reflect on those awesome childhood days that were so carefree and easy!! You played hopscotch, you skipped, played tag, hide ‘n’ go seek, ran so happily in the lush green grass singing and dancing, with not a care in the world. You knew back then that the inevitable would happen someday, and it is called growing up and facing the real world. But those wonderful childhood years create such fabulous and unforgettable memories, and I remember my mom and older sisters reading me books every night before bed, and even in the afternoon before nap time. A lot of those books I still remain to remember to this day, and just because you are an adult, does not mean that you have to totally ‘grow up’. After all, thinking and acting young seems to keep one feeling young, and no one ever really releases the inner child in them really in my personal opinion!!

I was recently introduced to an amazing author of children’s books, and her name is Sharon Cramer. She is a well known children’s book writer from her series of storybooks over at Talking Bird Books, LLC which she owns. Being raised with a twin sister who had an illness for so many years, Sharon observed that the treatments, though helpful and therapeutic were not what was ultimately most significant. What mattered most to Vonnie was the family and friends around her, who supported and loved her. Sharon then wrote the award winning series, Cougar Cub Tales series : The Sneezy Wheezy Day from her very own personal experience!

“From the award-winning series, COUGAR CUB TALES: The Sneezy Wheezy Day continues the adventures of the cougar cub brother and sister as they venture into the world to play. When one of the cubs becomes ill, they decide to seek their well-intentioned friends for treatments and remedies for brother cougar’s ailment. One friend even tells the cub, “Tickle your nose with the tail of a goose and do it before the next blue moon rise!”. Although the recommendations are sincere, the final remedy is a sibling’s love. The rhyming verse is captivating, not just for the child, but for the adult reader, and it is illustrated with incredibly vivid watercolors. It is a heartwarming story about negotiating childhood illness, but in a hilarious and lighthearted way. Make sure your child searches for the small additional creature on each page!”

I was sent the Cougar Cub Tales from Talking Bird Books to review and I know that you won’t be able to put them down once you start reading them. Your children will honestly love them and crave more and more of these books! Perfect for older toddlers to preschoolers. My 3 year old niece loved these books! She continually grabs the  book The Sneezy Wheezy Day when asked which book she would like us to read to her daily before nap time. The illustrations make the books come alive and are so darling! All are hard covered and there is no fear of Caleigh ripping them to shreds, she will have this series for many years to come!
