CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ MiniMaestro™ Diapers Review & Giveaway!!

MiniMaestro™ was born when a mother, Sophie Gratton, was having a difficult time finding diapers that fit all of her criteria. This mommy of 2 children wanted to find diapers that were green and didn’t want anything to do with the regular plastic ones that would sit in the landfill for years to come. After lots of research, Sophie was extremely surprised to find out that day after day, in Canada only, we were filling up landfills with a huge amount of disposable diapers; in fact, more than 4,5 millions per day!

For some, it can be hard to imagine a world without plastic – especially plastic bags.

The cons of using plastic bags are so overwhelming I don’t think I can think of any pros. They are a huge pollution problem, their lightweight design allows them to blow away easily. The fact that they are free gives them no value so people don’t think about how they dispose of them. They are made from petroleum, which could be used for fuel or energy. They don’t biodegrade, instead they breakdown and are mistaken for food and are often eaten by both land and marine animals which is fatal. They are found everywhere and many animals become fatally entangled.

They are not biodegradable, so they will persist pretty much forever, wherever they end up. Landfills if we are lucky, but because of their widespread use and their ability to fly away in the wind, they can be a big part of the trash along roads and fields. If they get into the water, they look like food and end up clogging the stomachs of a variety of animals, most famously sea turtles looking for jellyfish.

The recycling of plastic bags, while preferable to other disposal methods, is not cost-effective. Plastic bags have only existed for 25 years yet the billions that have been produced since then have caused immeasurable damage to the environment and to wildlife. Therefore, MiniMaestro™ Diapers is definitely the way to go for any new parents!!

MiniMaestro™ carries a sized pocket diaper in 5 different sizes in an extensive array of 12 funky colours.  I received a size medium MiniMaestro™ Diaper in the colour pink to review. Since they are a sized diaper you don’t have to worry about the snaps to figure out the rise and in fact, you don’t have to worry about snaps at all.  Instead of snapping the wings around your baby’s waist, you use the Velcro tabs.  There is a wide band across the waist that allows you to get the best fit possible for your baby.  There are laundry tabs so the Velcro doesn’t attach to everything during the washing process.  There is a single wide opening to place your insert inside the diaper.  The insert is made of natural and synthetic fibers between 2 layers of extremely plushy soft bamboo fleece!

I love MiniMaestro™ Diapers and recommend that everyone purchase these from now on! They:

  • Extensible and waterproof PUL outer shell
  • Soft microfleece inner to keep baby dry
  • Form-fitting elastics to prevent leaks
  • Wide pocket opening with double elastics, for easy stuffing
  • Long folding aplix tabs
  • Wide front band to adjust the height of the waist

They also come in a variety of sizes to fit baby just perfectly!!

♥→I received product for review.  The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way.  Please do your own research before purchasing products.  Your opinions and results may differ than mine.←♥
