After finding Petcurean Pet Nutrition while searching for unique healthy pet food for my two darling doggies via the internet, I wrote this company immediately to see if they wanted to do a review and giveaway with us here at CoolCanucks, and they immediately obliged! I was ecstatic, and could not wait to see what my very picky pups thought of their new food.
I was sent 3 coupons in the mail — two of which were valid for my dogs — both in 10 lb bags! The third coupon was valid for a cat, also in a 10 lb bag which I gave to my niece who has a cat!
I went and picked up my one free bag for my two small breed dogs, one is a 4lb, 5oz teacup pomeranian, and the other is a King Charles Cavalier Spaniel. I was leary at first, as BOTH of my dogs are extremely finicky and choosy when it comes to their meals. To my surprise, this dog food was a hit at my house, and myself or hubby could hardly believe it! I chose a 10 lb bag of “Now!” from THE NOW! GRAIN FREE FAMILY.
I was previously using a well-known brand of dog food for small breeds, but I got concerned of the fillers used in that particular brand. Many senior dog foods and weight loss foods are often jam packed with fillers. In diet food the dog is pooping out what it can not digest and is not taking in as many nutrients or calories. You would be easier on the dog to feed a better quality food in a smaller amount, and supplementing with low calorie vegetables to fill the dog up. Senior foods are trying to give a dog less calories. But by packing it full of fillers what exactly are you paying for? Your dog to poop more than it should need to? Better companies do have better senior foods, but you really need to read the labels to find something that is worth the cost.
