Min­i­Mae­stro™ was born when a mother, Sophie Gratton, was hav­ing a dif­fi­cult time find­ing dia­pers that fit all of her cri­te­ria. This mommy of 2 chil­dren wanted to find dia­pers that were green and didn’t want any­thing to do with the reg­u­lar plas­tic ones that would sit in the land­fill for years to come. After lots of research, Sophie was extremely sur­prised to find out that day after day, in Canada only, we were fill­ing up land­fills with a huge amount of dis­pos­able dia­pers; in fact, more than 4,5 mil­lions per day!

For some, it can be hard to imag­ine a world with­out plas­tic – espe­cially plas­tic bags.

The cons of using plas­tic bags are so over­whelm­ing I don’t think I can think of any pros. They are a huge pol­lu­tion prob­lem, their light­weight design allows them to blow away eas­ily. The fact that they are free gives them no value so peo­ple don’t think about how they dis­pose of them. They are made from petro­leum, which could be used for fuel or energy. They don’t biode­grade, instead they break­down and are mis­taken for food and are often eaten by both land and marine ani­mals which is fatal. They are found every­where and many ani­mals become fatally entangled.

They are not biodegrad­able, so they will per­sist pretty much for­ever, wher­ever they end up. Land­fills if we are lucky, but because of their wide­spread use and their abil­ity to fly away in the wind, they can be a big part of the trash along roads and fields. If they get into the water, they look like food and end up clog­ging the stom­achs of a vari­ety of ani­mals, most famously sea tur­tles look­ing for jellyfish.

The recy­cling of plas­tic bags, while prefer­able to other dis­posal meth­ods, is not cost-effective. Plas­tic bags have only existed for 25 years yet the bil­lions that have been pro­duced since then have caused immea­sur­able dam­age to the envi­ron­ment and to wildlife. There­fore, Min­i­Mae­stro™ Dia­pers is def­i­nitely the way to go for any new parents!!

 

 

 

 

Min­i­Mae­stro™ car­ries a sized pocket dia­per in 5 dif­fer­ent sizes in an exten­sive array of 12 funky colours.  I received a size medium Min­i­Mae­stro™ Dia­per in the colour pink to review. Since they are a sized dia­per you don’t have to worry about the snaps to fig­ure out the rise and in fact, you don’t have to worry about snaps at all.  Instead of snap­ping the wings around your baby’s waist, you use the Vel­cro tabs.  There is a wide band across the waist that allows you to get the best fit pos­si­ble for your baby.  There are laun­dry tabs so the Vel­cro doesn’t attach to every­thing dur­ing the wash­ing process.  There is a sin­gle wide open­ing to place your insert inside the dia­per.  The insert is made of nat­ural and syn­thetic fibers between 2 lay­ers of extremely plushy soft bam­boo fleece!

CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ PhoneFetcher Review & Giveaway!!

I recently came across a nifty lit­tle gad­get on the net called the Phone­Fetcher and it’s so neat!

If you are any­thing like me, you are for­ever mis­plac­ing your cell phone, (or in my case, I con­tin­u­ally think that I have lost it for good and have mini panic attacks while search­ing through my purse or pock­ets for it!!) and with­out think­ing you set it down some­where, or with a huge purse like mine, it’s dif­fi­cult find­ing any­thing — let alone a cell phone!

Well thanks to the Phone­Fetcher, one no longer has to worry about where their cell phone is any longer.

The Phone­Fetcher is sim­ply mde on a stretch­able bungee cord, which allows tex­ting and view­ing with­out hav­ing to dis­con­nect the phone. When the phone is removed from the bag, we leave our Phone­Fetch­ers hang­ing out of our bag to alert us as we leave, that we do not have our phone with us.

 

 

 

 

This new handy Phone­Fetcher just sim­ply attaches to a purse, back pack, gym bag, baby bag, belt loop, etc. on one end, and the other end attaches eas­ily to the ear­phone plug of a smart phone, mp3 player, iphone, or what have you! I tried it today while I was out, and let me tell you — it worked like a charm!! My friend Deb­bie always reminds me that it’s my OCD kick­ing in when I am for­ever search­ing for my iPhone, but not any more! This nifty new gad­get surely takes the worry out of me, no more hunt­ing end­lessly for my phone! Hurray!!

The Phone­Fetcher comes in a vari­ety of very pretty colours, so pur­chase one … or pur­chase them all! These also make the per­fect gifts, and are espe­cially great to use for stock­ing stuffers as well!

The ePil­low is made from 100% Poly­ester and 65% Vinyl, 35% Polypropy­lene. The inside fill is 100% Poly­ester Fiber. The ePil­low is Sewn in Mex­ico from fab­ric made in China. The ePil­low is approx­i­mately 17 inches wide by 11 inches long by 5 inches thick of course that all depend­ing on how much you fluff it up or flat­ten it. It weighs almost noth­ing. It is double-stitched for dura­bil­ity. A vinyl “ledge” sur­rounds the out­side to hold an iPad in place either hor­i­zon­tally or ver­ti­cally.  It comes with a soft flex­i­ble han­dle and also fea­tures a built-in pocket to hold your read­ing glasses, remote con­trol or var­i­ous other items. This is hon­estly the best iPad holder!

Total She Inc. is the cre­ation of a fel­low Win­nipeg­ger, Kris­ten. Want­ing to stay at home with her daugh­ters is what moti­vated her to start Total She Inc. and make it what it is today. Five years ago, she stared off by sell­ing bracelets at home par­ties and now her busi­ness has now grown, with con­sul­tants from New­found­land to Alberta. Today, you can pur­chase every­thing from stain­less steel jew­ellery to per­son­al­ized gifts online at the Total She Inc. web­site or at a Home Party.

 

While thumb­ing through the cat­a­logue that I received, I was extremely impressed with the vari­ety of prod­ucts avail­able. From Slap On Watches in a rain­bow of colours, pic­ture frames, pass­port wal­lets, water bot­tles and Card Cubby’s….and that is just to name a few. What I love most is that a large vari­ety of items at Total She Inc. can be per­son­al­ized. You can choose from numer­ous fonts, clip art, bor­ders and cor­ners. What­ever you decide on it will make your pur­chase totally yours and totally unique.

There is also a full line of stain­less steel jew­ellery offered at Total She Inc.  You can get per­son­al­ized, styl­ish bracelets and ele­gant pen­dants. There is even an Ear­ring Of  The Month Club for those who are hooked on ear­rings. You pay for six months and the sev­enth month is free. How cool would it be to receive a new pair of ear­rings in your mail box each and every month!

 

 

The item that I decided to review was the Secu­rity Card Case. I chose the Amethyst shade with the jester font and flower vine cor­ner. When it arrived I was more than happy with my choice because it suits me per­fectly. The case is a light­weight alu­minum with RFID block­ing tech­nol­ogy. One click of a but­ton and the case opens to reveal 7 expand­able fan shaped com­part­ments that very com­fort­ably holds all of my cards and even cash. It is also ridged in the back for bet­ter grip and small enough that it slides eas­ily into my purse and does not take up much space. I am now styl­ish while pro­tect­ing myself from iden­tity theft.

I received three won­der­ful items to try out and review, French Vanilla Soy Can­dle, Laven­der Soy Can­dle and Rose­wood and Lemon Body Lotion

 

 

I was very impressed with the French Vanilla Soy Can­dle. It comes in a very cute open glass con­tainer and has a wooden wick. I had never tried a can­dle with a wooden wick and love the flame that it pro­duces. The scent was absolutely divine and I am totally hooked on it. The scent descrip­tion on the web­site, “A per­fect blend of french vanilla with top notes of white choco­late with bot­tom notes of rich vanilla cream”. I will def­i­nitely be mak­ing a future pur­chase to stock up these amaz­ing candles.

 

The sec­ond item was a Soy Laven­der Can­dle. Laven­der is great to help you feel calm, relieve anx­i­ety and stress. I decided that I would use this can­dle in my bed­room and I lit it after I crawled into bed to read and relax. It was just the ticket and I dozed off to sleep with no prob­lems at all. I also like that these can­dles are long last­ing, burn­ing time is between 35–40 hours. On the Freen web­site this can­dle is described as “A truly herbal fra­grance blend­ing the rich notes of laven­der with the hint of warm wood notes”

 

Lastly is the Rose­wood Lemon Body Lotion. I work at a job han­dling papers all day long and usu­ally put on tons of lotion on dur­ing the day because my hands get really dry. I brought the Rose­wood Lemon Body Lotion to use for a few day and what a dif­fer­ence! I did not find it oily or greasy and my hands felt soft for ages after apply­ing. I like that is con­tains 100% pure essen­tial oils of rose­wood and organic lemon. This lotion is described on the Freen web­site as “free of petro­chem­i­cals, syn­thetic fra­grances and colours, suit­able for nor­mal to dry and sen­si­tive skin”

 

In my opin­ion this is a great Cana­dian online shop and I would rec­om­mend the prod­ucts to everyone.
