CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Naked Binder Review & Giveaway!!CLOSED

As most of you know, I am all about green companies and eco-friendly products, and Naked Binder is certainly no exception. Naked Binder is a company committed to creating durable, very high quality and useful products that leave less of a footprint on the earth.  They believe that long life, strength and beauty go hand-in-hand in the fight against an ugly, cheap, disposable society.  Naked Binder is constantly working to improve their products and processes, looking for ways to cut down on waste and packaging.  All of Naked Binder products are either recycled or recyclable which is phenomenal!

I recently received an assortment of Naked Binders to review. I noticed right off the bat that these binders were much sturdier than the vinyl binders that we normally purchase for school use. They also sport a very pretty array of colours on the spines so you can colour coordinate your projects or pick a specific colour to blend into your decor!

• 100% recycled board, 97% post-consumer waste
• completely recyclable
• acid neutral board
• no plastic, vinyl or toxic chemicals

Using eco-friendly products help conserve natural resources, such as; wood, electricity, water and oil. Biodegradable and recyclable products will also cut back on waste that goes to landfills and helps prevent pollution from leaching into the ecosystem. Recycling helps preserve the environment and supports the economy.

To make the biggest impact with eco-friendly products you should both buy eco-friendly/recycled products and reduce, reuse and recycle the products you buy.

Using products made from recycled materials such as what these binders are made of, reduces the impact on the environment in a few ways. In the example of paper, less trees are being cut down. The number of chemicals used in the production of new paper is reduced. Land-fill sites have been spared at least the amount of paper that was recycled! What a brilliant way to partake in living an eco-friendly lifestyle!

About Naked Binder:

“Started in 2008, Naked Binder emerged having multiple goals: sustainability, great design, preserving wilderness we love and giving back to education that helped us get here.

We designed the strongest, most sustainable 3-ring binders available — cutting waste in manufacturing, processing and travel.  We make our binders, folders and tabs in Des Moines, IA in the US of A out of FSC certified, 100% post-consumer waste binders board, 100% cotton cloth, a few FSC certified papers and metal rings.  No plastics, vinyls or toxins.

We designed our 3-ring binders to look so good you won’t want to get rid of them.  We have everything you might need to impress a client, store your taxes or decorate your office.

Naked Binder donates to support wilderness areas and schools around the US. Learning to think and space to think in are important for a better world.
• 1” ring holds 170 sheets of paper”

I learned that the 60 million binders that are used and discarded in the US each year — release dioxins from the day they are produced — From sitting on the shelf to sitting in landfill or the Pacific Gyre, they are toxic and will not go away.
A good reason to use theirs — Naked Binders are healthier, recyclable, last longer and look better.

All right, I should first confess that I absolutely adore office products! Anything that helps me stay (or get) organized is awesome, and even better if it looks and feels good, too! Naked Binder combines both of those with the third and awesomest factor, sustainable materials for their products! They only use 100% post consumer and 100% recycled materials to create their products. LOVE that!

I need these because the Architect Binder keeps your work safe from harm for long-term storage and retrieval

One thing I don’t like about entering is that while I’m typing it’s very light grey on white. I have a hard time seeing what I’ve written. which may explain my last post when I got interrupted mid-way. I’d like a better contrast when entering. Other than that you’re good!
