Newly Launched: Hot Canada Deals ~ Bringing Canada the newest and hottest deals out There!

Thursday, September 27th, 2012

I am not sure about you, but I truly know that the ‘average Joe’ cares about where their hard earned money is going when making purchases for basically the neccessities of everyday living. We all require food to survive, personal care items, clothing, household cleaners and furniture, items for repairs or reno’s, newer vehicles, gas to get from point A to point B, and the list goes on and on.

For many of us, money does not come easy, and unfortunately there is no such thing as a money tree. Making the average Canadian dollar stretch is hard enough to begin with, let alone having to spend on all of these emergencies that may strike you unexpectedly, so we all require a little bit of money to fall back on should any mishap occur.

Everyone I know certainly likes to get a bang for their buck with the immense skyrocketing of prices nowadays, whether it is food, household goods, gas, you name it. We all need to find the best deals possible while shopping. Thanks to the newly launched website called Hot Canada Deals, there is no need to look any further for the best canadian deals going today!

I love saving money by searching for all of the newest sizzling hot deals out there, and bringing home 5 bags of items instead of 2 gives me a huge rush!

Just knowing that I saved $100+ dollars alone on a single shopping spree puts me on a retail high, and there is just no feeling like it! :)

Unlike Old Mother Hubbard, most families are more concerned about an empty wallet than a bare cupboard. When money is tight, we quickly look for ways to cut back on spending. It’s easy to forfeit a night at the movies or a new handbag, but spending less on food isn’t so simple. This is why so many of us search high and low for the most excellent deals out there today.

Turn to Hot Canada Deals for all of the best Canadian deals. You won’t be sorry!

CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Two Leaves Tea Company Review & Giveaway!!

Thursday, September 27th, 2012

Being huge tea drinkers at my house as well as at my parents, I just knew that I had to try all of the huge assortment of teas that Two Leaves Tea Company carries! After coming across their website, my eyes literally popped when I saw many different mouthwatering flavors that I have never tried before!!

I was sent a some of their famous Paisley teas, and as expected, they tasted just as good as described! We all had a field-day experimenting all of the scrumptious flavors in that box! These are the most delicious teas that I have tried yet!!

At Two Leaves Tea Company, you will find the best organic tea ever! They offer so many varieties of yummy teas that you can try for yourself, or even offer as gifts for your family and friends! Almost everyone that I know is a tea-lover, and now I have the perfect gift in mind for that person on my hard to buy for list!!

Choose from:

jasmine petal green

assam breakfast

earl grey

tamayokucha

chamomile

peppermint

gen mai cha

three tea sampler

better morning blend

better belly blend

better rest blend

mountain high chai

orange sencha

And so many more!!

“Founded in 2005, two leaves tea company™ began with a journey. Founder Richard Rosenfeld travelled the world on business, where meetings are synonymous with amazingly flavorful cups of tea. After returning to the states, Richard looked everywhere for a good cuppa’ tea…but had a hard time finding one.

Richard travelled to gardens in China, Sri Lanka and Japan to establish relationships with tea growers in order to bring premium, whole-leaf tea from the best harvests to tea drinkers around the world. Two leaves tea company™ has been recognized for the passion, care and effort that goes into cupping our tea, with awards such as the Best New Tea award for 2005–2006 from the Specialty Coffee Association of the United States, and the People’s Choice Award at the Great Canadian Tea Steep Off in 2006.”

“Our experiences at the gardens have taught us one incredibly important thing — how to recognize and appreciate great organic whole leaf tea. Our commitment to “go there” means we’re providing our customers with tea that tastes as if it has been plucked and steeped direct from the gardens.

Two leaves tea company™ was one of the pioneers of the pyramid shaped tea sachet that allows tea drinkers to experience whole leaf tea in the comfort of their own home. The sachet gives the whole tea leaves the ability to expand, yielding a rich, flavorful cuppa’ that can’t be paralleled.”

You just cannot go wrong when shopping at the Two Leaves Tea Company. Their prices are very reasonable, their customer service skills are phenomenal, and their delivery time was also beyond outstanding! I strongly recommend this scrumptious tea to everyone!! At this time, two leaves’ primary distribution in Canada is in foodservice (cafes and restaurants). Some of these cafes/coffee houses may also sell whole boxes of their tea. However, all of their products are sold on the website twoleavestea.com.

CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Life without Plastic Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds Review & Giveaway!!

Wednesday, September 19th, 2012

Back in 2009 I discovered a phenomenal company called Life without Plastic when I had the opportunity of doing a review and giveaway with them. They sent me a Stainless Steel Airtight Watertight Food Storage Container as well as a Stainless Steel Hot Meal Container to test out, and these 2 products are still used at my house to this day! These products rock, period!!

We know too much plastic ruins the earth. And plastics containing BPA ruin our health. BPA is short for bisphenol A, and studies have shown that it can cause cancer and other medical illnesses in animals. Well, some companies are pioneering the move to BPA-free products, to keep us humans safe.

We’ve seen reference to the dangers plastic poses to marine life and wildlife, garbage that we humans directly and indirectly deposit in the oceans or on the earth, but how clearly have we received the message? Not clearly enough it seems!

Once animals, marine life or wildlife ingest plastic, thousands of spines lining the throat and esophagus make it nearly impossible to regurgitate. The plastic can lead to partial or even complete obstruction of the gastrointestinal tract, resulting in decreased digestive efficiency, energetic and reproductive costs and, for some, starvation.

Plastics ingestion doesn’t always cause death, but there are clearly health risks! The frustrating, yet hopeful aspect is that humans can easily begin addressing the solution, without major lifestyle changes. It’s as simple as reducing packaging and moving towards alternative, biodegradable materials and recycling.

And this is why I am certainly grateful for “Life Without Plastic”!!

About this wonderful company, a blurb from their website:

Who We Are: Activists for a Plastic Free Planet

“We launched Life Without Plastic (“LWP”) in 2006 after several years of daydreaming about how to make a contribution to reducing the large quantities of plastic that are consumed every second of every day around the world.  We played with ideas for raising awareness about the issue. We wanted to address the environmental disaster that the consumption of plastic is causing, and the damage that leaching plastic can cause to human and animal health.  We quickly realized that before we could effectively help people reduce their plastic consumption, we had to be able to point them toward non-plastic alternatives that could replace the plastic items currently used in day-to-day life.  When Life Without Plastic was created, very few alternatives existed in the North American market, especially for food and drink containers.  Our son was born in 2003, and he was the catalyst. He made us look more actively for alternatives in North America and in other countries around the world.  This is how Sanctus Mundo, our unique product brand, came into existence.

Fast forward three years to 2009 and here we are.  There are now many more alternatives to plastic products available thanks, for example, to the tremendous media attention on bisphenol A over the past two years.  Yet one thing we are noticing is that the quality of these alternatives varies significantly.  There are some wonderful new products created with a real concern for quality, health, the environment, and workers conditions. But there are other products out there that are unsafe.  For example, not all stainless steel is created equal, and as with many things, price is often an indicator of quality.

As we continue to fulfill our goal of making available more and more high quality alternatives to plastic products, we are now able to begin focusing increased attention on an equally important element of our mission:  raising awareness about plastics issues by providing solid science– and experience-based information and showing people, one person at a time, the beauty and simplicity of a life without plastic.”

This great company carries all sorts of alternatives to plastic, making the environment such a better place.

They sell all kind of sweet products, including:

Bags

Child and Baby Products

Food Storage

Non-Plastic Toys

Tableware

Water Storage

This time around they sent me some fantastic Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds to try out and as per usual, Life without Plastic did not disappoint!!

Summer at the Diotte household means refreshing popsicle time. We eat popsicles all throughout the day and the evening. We devour them when we’re blazing from the hot summer sun, like we have been for most of this summer. We chow on popsicles at any old time because they are refreshing, fun, and when they’re not loaded with sugar and artificial food colouring like the ones you might buy in the store, they’re very healthy and also an eco-friendly soothing snack for people both young and old!

These Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds are made of stainless steel and come with three reusable bamboo sticks and two silicone gaskets each.

Popsicles are one of the easiest make-it-yourself treats both because they’re quick (not counting freezing time), and because they use up fruit that might be too ripe to eat but very easy to puree. All you need to make popsicles is:

* Life without Plastic Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds

* a mixture of whatever tinkles your fancy, (whatever you would like to eat in your popsicle)

* a blender of some sort to puree the ingredients so you can pour them into your Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds; and

* a funnel so you can easily pour the puree into these awesome Ice Pop Molds.

These are the best Freezycup™ Ice Pop Molds by far that we have ever tried! No more shopping for supermarket popsicles now thanks to these molds from Life without Plastic! They rock!!!!!

♥→I received product for review. The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way. Please do your own research before purchasing products. Your opinions and results may differ than mine.←♥

Yves Rocher is the world leader in botanical beauty products! Yves Rocher  is the online destination for beauty cosmetics including skin and body care, fragrance, makeup, and bath.

Yves Rocher has a Foundation called the Yves Rocher Foundation. Here is a bit of info: The Yves Rocher Foundation – Institut de France was an initiative of Jacques Rocher, son of Yves Rocher. Thursday, September 13th, 2012

Most of us nowadays are doing our part helping to make this a greener world. We reduce, reuse, and recycle. CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Steward Bags 100% certified organic cotton Reusable Bags Review & Giveaway!!

Thursday, September 6th, 2012

For some, it can be hard to imagine a world without plastic – especially plastic bags.

The cons of using plastic bags are so overwhelming I don’t think I can think of any pros. They are a huge pollution problem, their lightweight design allows them to blow away easily. The fact that they are free gives them no value so people don’t think about how they dispose of them. They are made from petroleum, which could be used for fuel or energy. They don’t biodegrade, instead they breakdown and are mistaken for food and are often eaten by both land and marine animals which is fatal. They are found everywhere and many animals become fatally entangled.

They are not biodegradable, so they will persist pretty much forever, wherever they end up. Landfills if we are lucky, but because of their widespread use and their ability to fly away in the wind, they can be a big part of the trash along roads and fields. If they get into the water, they look like food and end up clogging the stomachs of a variety of animals, most famously sea turtles looking for jellyfish.

The recycling of plastic bags, while preferable to other disposal methods, is not cost-effective. Plastic bags have only existed for 25 years yet the billions that have been produced since then have caused immeasurable damage to the environment and to wildlife.

Thank Heavens for Steward Bags 100% certified organic cotton Reusable Bags!!

I was sent some Steward Bags 100% certified organic cotton Reusable Bags to review, and they are phenomenal! The benefits of using these 100% certified organic cotton Reusable Bags are fantastic! They are a re-usable alternative to plastic, each one has the potential to eliminate hundreds of plastic bags!!

Their Mission Statement:

“To provide grocery shoppers  with a high quality, eco-friendly alternative to plastic produce bags as  well as encourage and challenge others to become active participants in  stewardship initiatives for our planet.”

Company History:

“Steward Bags was born out of our family’s love for the outdoors and our passion for stewardship of the Earth.  We are committed to learning new ways to reduce our ecological foot print.  We waited for others to create an eco-friendly alternative to the plastic produce bags and grew impatient.  In the meantime we debated.  One of us insisted on tying a knot in the top of the bag so the produce didn’t roll out. The other, however, argued that knotting the top of the bag makes it difficult to re-open and impossible to reuse.  Either way these bags ended up piling up in our garbage and utimately in the local landfill. Not only have we developed this organic produce bag as an Earth friendly alternative to plastic produce bags, now we have one less thing to argue about. We feel that the development of our product is a natural progression from reusable grocery bags.”

I give Steward Bags 100% certified organic cotton Reusable Bags a huge thumbs up, and absolutely recommend that everyone purchase these phenomenal reusable produce bags!

♥→I received product for review. The opinions within this post are of my own and I was not influenced in any way. Please do your own research before purchasing products. Your opinions and results may differ than mine.←♥

CoolCanucks Blog Contest ~ Aurora World Raggedy Ann Doll Review & Giveaway!!

Saturday, September 1st, 2012

Aurora World is best known for it’s extensive quantities of much loved children’s plush toys for boys and girls. Aurora World is the leading supplier of affordable, high quality plush toys and gifts.

Plush toys are well loved by kids of almost all ages. Babies have their favorite plush toys and so do teenagers!

I know that I certainly had my favorite growing up, and I am sure that you also remember your favorite! After finding Aurora World while surfing the net one day, I desired to know more about them!

Aurora World recently introducted add a lineup of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy and I love the fact that my little niece Riley was excited and clung to the Raggedy Ann doll that Aurora World sent me to review!

Aurora World, Inc. has been named the newest plush license for Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls!!

“RAGGEDY ANN  & RAGGEDY ANDY CLASSIC Handmade by Aurora — The beloved ragdolls are back!  Aurora’s soft and huggable dolls are heirloom treasures to be passed along for generations.  Raggedy  Ann & Raggedy Andy were created by Johnny Gruelle in 1918 for his daughter, Marcella. Aurora has captured the spirit of the heartwarming originals with ten sweetly nostalgic styles in four sizes — 8″, 12″, 16″ & 25″. Beautifully made, with fine facial features in soft brown tones and yarn hair. Has the traditional embroidered “I Love You” heart on his chest. Larger dolls features plastic button eyes, smaller sizes have embroidered eyes. Raggedy Ann is dressed in proprietary vintage-inspired fabrics, and both Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy feature their own unique styling. Each collectable comes with a 4 sided hang tag that highlight Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy’s origin and legacy.”

I used to have both Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls when I was a young girl, and I took them everywhere with me! I slept with them, played house with them, hugged them, and even sat them at the dinner table with us! :)

I am so happy that Aurora World brought back my magical memories after being able to review her at my age now!!

Again, Aurora World did not disappoint!
